The OnePlus 2 Smartphone was launched in July last year; it was a beautiful, handy and sleek device. Its specs could have easily made it won the best mobile device of that month and subsequent months because it is simply fast, the screen comes with cool graphics and it is perfect for all your needs. At that time, the device was only in a 64GB internal storage variant that was priced at Rs. 24,999 ($329) in India with the company promising to bring a lower memory variant in some months.
After the Chinese company vowed to bring the 16GB variant to India, it went on to explore some other mobile devices like tablets, Smartphones and it was even rumored to be planning to released an updated Smartwatch. The company may not have fulfilled its promise in 2015, but here we are in the first month of 2016, it has released just what we were expecting. As at the time of writing this article, the OnePlus 2 is available only on Amazon India and just like what we saw on the 64GB variant of the OnePlus, you do not need any invite to be able to join the bandwagon.
Talking of the specs of this sleek device, the OnePlus 2 with 16GB internal storage has a lot of similarities to the 64GB internal storage variant of the device. Even with all the similarities, the company still kept its promise of always being different with each release by making the 16GB variant come with a 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM while the 64GB variant sports a 4GB RAM.
The OnePlus 2 Smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch wide display that sports a full-HD feature, a1080x1920 pixels of resolution and a 1500:1 ratio of contrast. The Smartphone comes powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC that is clocked at 1.8GHz after which it is also fitted with an Adreno 430 GPU.
The sleek device is featuring dual 4G Nano-SIM cards and a USB Type-C connectivity which comes with cables that are reversible at each end. The Smartphone also comes with a 13MP rear-facing camera that also comes with a 1.3 Micron Sensor. The camera has autofocus, dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording capability, RAW image support and OIS. In addition to the smart camera at the rear of the device, the Smartphone also sports a 5MP front-facing camera that’s serves you when you need those selfies.
In the power room, the Smartphone houses a 3300mAh battery that can offer a 30 hours runtime and 280 hours standby time. In addition to the battery, the Smartphone also comes with a fingerprint sensor that improves the security, and the sensor can be used to validate payments and unlock the Smartphone in less than 0.5 second. The fingerprint sensor is also capable of storing 5 fingerprints, making it possible for those you trust to have an easy access to your mobile device.
Last month, the company announced that it has sent an update to OxygenOS 2.2.0 for the OnePlus over the air and the update was said to be fixing the Dual-SIM preference selection issues in settings, it adds an NTFS and exFAT support for OTG. The new update also fixes the Google camera Photo-Sphere and panorama bugs and it also brings a Screen Temperature Adjustment option in the quick settings menu.
