Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Launched
I think I am the only one who can tell you how I felt when I heard about the release of these Smartphones. I was ecstatic and I immediately felt the need to get my pen and write down so many things about these devices. They come with some sleek features and their specs are simply cool. These devices have made the news headlines more times than I can remember with leaks, rumors and news running around. Finally, Samsung decides to launch its flagship Smartphone for 2016 ahead of the Mobile World Congress which is starting in some days.
Samsung has said preorders for the Smartphones will begin by tomorrow and in some regions, customers will be going home with an additional Gear VR headset that is bundled along with six different games.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with a 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED display while the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge proved it really has an Edge over its smaller sibling by sporting a 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED display. Just like the LG G5 Smartphone, these devices come with an Always-On display, helping check important notifications without having to wake your devices.
The company also stated that it will be using two different types of SoCs for different regions. The devices would be coming with either the homemade Exynos 8890 SoC or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. Each of the devices has 4GB RAM capacities. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge pack 32GB internal storages and microSD card slots for memory expansions of up to 200GB.
The devices come with 12MP rear-facing cameras and they also have additional 5MP front facing cameras that serve the selfie needs. They come as the first Smartphones to have a dual-pixel technology and this has resulted in the Smartphones having less blur. They also come with advanced sensors that catch every single detail. They run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, making them one of the latest devices in the market (software-wise). The devices are super fast, they do not lag or crash apps, and so far, some of the tested specs have been cool.
On the connectivity front, the Smartphones come with dual-SIMs, Wi-Fi, GPS, 4G and 3G networks, Bluetooth and NFC. In addition to connectivity, the makers have also fixed some sensors on these Smartphones, these include Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Gyroscope and Accelerometer.
The powerhouses of these devices have the most visible differences as the Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with a 3000mAh battery while its older sibling comes with a 3600 mAh battery. Each of these Smartphones has non-removable batteries and they sport fast-charge features. Do you even need to wait to charge your phone? These Smartphones have wireless charging that’s super fast, so you can always stay online and never worry about getting your Smartphone charged.
The Smartphones have an IP681 rating, and that means that they repel spills and splashes; in simple terms, they are water resistant.
The additional Gear 360 device is also a new invention from the company. The Gear 360 is a standalone camera that can capture pictures and videos of anything that happens all around it. All the captured information will be sent to users via 9the Gear VR headset or the Gear 360 app.
