If Smartphones running 4GB RAMs are very fast, what should we expect on a device that comes with 6GB RAM? Xiaomi, Samsung, LG and many other Smartphone makers made the Mobile World Congress a battleground, a place to challenge themselves, their specs and the quality of their devices. Although these tech companies have made cool devices, none of them were able to beat the one Smartphone maker who released a Smartphone with 6GB RAM. Let’s walk you through the device, let’s really see if it’s something you should think about getting.
Yesterday was a standstill in the tech space, I was just looking at pictures and feeling the release as it progressed that I forgot to bring it to you our dear readers. The Vivo Xplay 5 Elite is the Smartphone, and it sports some cool features for a device of its caliber, and this could be a real game changer for the likes of Samsung, Xiaomi, LG and the likes who have set their sights on making a fortune after the MWC.
The company has been teasing the arrival of this Smartphone for quite some time, but it’s not as long as Samsung’s tease of the Galaxy S7s. The company teased some features of this Smartphone for quite some time, but one feature it remained mum on was the RAM. It was during the release that it announced the RAM capacity of the Smartphone. I will see this as a strategic release as other tech giants are pursuing 5GB RAMs; releasing this 6GB RAM has put a dent on their plans.
The Smartphone comes in two variants, one is 4GB RAM and it runs on Snapdragon 652 while the other one of 6GB RAM runs on the new Snapdragon 820 chipset. Just like Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7 Edge Smartphones, the Vivo Xplay 5 Elite comes with a Dual Edge display. The Smartphone comes with a 5.43-inch Super AMOLED screen that has the perfect pixels to complement the RAM.
The Smartphone also sports a 16MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. The cameras have autofocus, dual-tone LED flash and face detection. Some other connectivity features also include LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Hi-Fi 3.0. It also sports a sleek fingerprint scanner that unlocks the Smartphone in than 0.4 seconds.
The company didn’t let us down in the battery department as it released a massive 3,600mAh battery for this Smartphone, and that shows that we all will be getting a chance to use the device to the full as a long-lasting battery is always the lifeblood of any Smartphone.
It runs on a lower version of Android when compared to the Samsung Galaxy S7s, that’s a little let down for those who may be contemplating a quick changeover, but let’s just say, the Android 5.1 Lollipop isn’t too low, it’s manageable. In addition to its coming with an Android 5.1, the Smartphone comes with Vivo’s very own FunTouch OS 2.5.1, an added benefit to getting this sleek gadget.
Well, let’s just wait and see how it goes, some Chinese resellers would be selling them really soon, so you can also enjoy this cool gadget too. But which would you prefer, a device with a bigger RAM and lower version or a device with a higher version and lesser RAM? Your views are really appreciated.
