Ever Since Sacking Human Editors, Facebook Has Repeatedly Shared Fake News

Intro

Facebook sacked its human news editors some time ago, and out of a desire to pay more attention to bots and artificial intelligence, the company may have practically shared fake news repeatedly.

Let’s take for example the incident that involved Megyn Kelly, an incident that was supposed to be an anomaly, but then, just six weeks after Facebook revamped its Trending system, a hoax about Megyn Kelly trended; the company has repeatedly promoted news stories of the star that are actually works of fiction, with none of the stories having facts in them.

It was also discovered that between August 31 and September 22, Facebook posted five trending stories that were fake and 3 other stories that were without facts. It was interesting to note that blog posts and news releases from sites like Medium and posts that get linked to online stores also trends regularly.
