Facebook has been investing time and effort in its buy and sell groups for some months now, and we noticed that a lot of people are taking the time to visit these groups either to sell their products or to buy from sellers. It is estimated that over 450 million people regularly visit these groups to get products, and that just shows how successful it would be if Facebook starts a marketplace, as it boasts of a large user base, and not just that, its users are always active on the platform.
The company has now decided to launch a tab in its mobile app that’s dedicated to peer-to-peer shopping. The Facebook Marketplace tab allows you browse a well-sorted feed of things people are putting up for sale, and from the first look, this marketplace puts people who live nearby at the top of the results you see.
You will be able to list your own products too, and you will get these products in the sight of millions of fellow users. The marketplace is integrated with Facebook Messenger, so haggling and arranging a meeting wouldn’t be much of a hurdle. Many have said that this is actually safer than some of the online marketplaces we have as you will be able to know the person you are dealing with since their Facebook profile is visible to you.
