Just yesterday, Qualcomm announced the Quick Charge 4.0, which is the latest version of its fast-charge technology. Speaking of improvements, the company revealed that this fast-charge technology will be coming 20% faster and 30% more efficient than previous generations that have been used by android devices.
With the new tech, users will be benefiting from a 50% battery boost with just 15 minutes of charge time. It’s also expected that a user who charges for just five minutes would be able to enjoy a five-hour battery life, coming as one of the best features a Smartphone will be adorned with.
It should also be noted that the new tech is compliant with the USB-C and USB power delivery specs that were set by Google and the standards body for USBs. Google has warned manufacturers to stop using the proprietary charging spec (“Vbus”) that’s being deployed by quick charge devices as there have been concerns over the safety of users and compatibility with the Smartphones.
