The drones will be programmed to communicate with each other via a mesh network to give information such as good routes and weather. The drones will be recharged on the ship. Amazon revealed that the airship will remain in the air, while it will be refueled and replenished using a shuttle, so if there is a need for products up there, the company seems to have a way around it.
Amazon has successfully trialed its first drone in the UK, and it’s moving very fast with its plan that this goes worldwide. We shouldn’t expect that things will be easy as Amazon will have a pretty complex job of convincing the aviation authorities that its plans wouldn’t be risking lives. So why not just wait and enjoy the feeling of being able to shop right in the sky.
