Why Battery Cells will Gain More Popularity
Prices of lithium-ion batteries have fallen pretty fast to about half in the space of three years; even though electric cars have been largely responsible, the new rate of demand for these batteries have increased the production, thereby resulting in the fall in prices. One thing that has made it quite hard for the battery storage industry to make a headway was the price, but since we are now seeing a fall in prices, a lot of people will be finding it pretty easy to crossover without having to break their pockets.
Tesla is very optimistic that it will be able to deliver 15-gigawatt hours of battery storage a year by 2020, and that’s more than enough to provide factories and several nuclear power plants electricity that will serve them during their peak production hours. It’s a bright future in the battery storage industry, and it’s a sign that man will not have to hurt his environment as much as he is already doing.
