127 tech companies have just thrown weight behind a filing against Donald Trump’s immigrant ban which he placed on seven Muslim-majority countries. Apple, Facebook, Google, Intel, Twitter, and Microsoft are the biggest of these companies, and this court motion which was filed on Sunday night declares that Donald Trump’s executive order “violates the immigration laws and constitution.”
The majority of the companies that signed the filling were tech companies, with exception to Chobani, Kind and Levi Strauss. The interesting thing here is that these companies probably joined because of their origin, they were founded by immigrants.
According to the court document, the ban is representing a shift in rules governing the entry into the country, while its still inflicting substantial harm on US companies.” The brief also comes in support of a lawsuit that was filed in federal court last Monday by Attorney General Bob Ferguson. The lawsuit had asked that some key provisions of the order be declared unconstitutional, which may be like second guessing or reviewing the executive order of the president.
