The Desire For Free Chicken Nuggets For an Entire Year Gives a 16-Year-Old the Most Number of Re-tweets Ever

In April last month, Carter Wilkerson set out determined to get free chicken nuggets for one whole year. What he might not have known was that his request would turn into the most retweeted tweet ever.

Not long after Wendy’s reaction, the 16-year-old from Reno, Nev., took a screenshot of the discussion and requested that the group of nugget lovers help him because, as he tweeted, “a man needs his nuggs.”

Well, who doesn’t like nuggets, after all? Taking a bite into one of those jjust takes away so much of frustration and puts you in a relaxed mindset. But well, that’s our perspective on it.

On Tuesday, Wilkerson’s request for complimentary nuggets broke the retweet record, as indicated by Guinness World Records. His tweet was shared more than 3,470,000 times – well, what a vast number! Already, the most shared tweet was Ellen DeGeneres’ Oscars selfie, which Guinness said had 3,430,249 retweets as of Tuesday. So it was the new record which grabbed everybody’s attention.

In light of his newly discovered social fame, Wilkerson began a site, #NuggsforCarter, which offers T-shirts for all chicken fans. As per the site, all returns from the merchandise deals will be given to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

And despite the fact that Wilkerson didn’t exactly hit the 18 million stamp, Wendy’s chosen to simply take the opportunity and give him the free pieces for a year. Wendy’s additionally vowed to offer $100,000 to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
